Reflection Microscopic and Electron Probe Micron Analysis Study about the Effect of Demineralized Freeze-dried Bone on Bone Formation around IMZ Implant

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to observe morphologically remodelling, bone induction and conduction of demineralized freeze-dried bone(DFDB) in the vent(8§® diameter, 5§® depth) of IMZ implant embedded in rabbit tibia. In 6, 8, 10 weeks, IMZ implants with DFDB were fixed with 10% neutral formalin, dehydrated, and embedded with Spurr low viscosity resin. After the specimen was cut by 500§ with show diamond wheel saw, these were grinded up to 100§ with grinder, examined with light and reflection electron microscope, and for detecting calcium and phosphate, EMPA(Electromicroprobeanalysis)was used. The obtained results were follows.
1.IMZ implants were surrounded by new vone and variable resorbed DFDB in cental portion of vent on REM EPMA after 4 weeks of experimental group
2.IMZ implant tightly attached to advanced calcified bone including mircotubles and Harversian cananls, which was well demarcated from cortical bone on REM and EPMA after 8 weeks of experimental gruop. There were more resorbed DFDB than that of 6 weeks.
3.Calcified bone grew promptly into central portion showing new vone formation. There were less well demarcated from cortical bone on REM and EPMA after 6 weeks of experimental group, but less well density and immature bone formation in the central portion.
From above results there was slight bone formation around DFDB and less prominant bone formation to control group when DFDB was embedded in hole of IMZ implant. And also it was presented that it is difficulty to get boen formation induced by DFDB in central portion far from cortical bone.
